Tom Old is the owner of Alta Vista Consulting L.L.C, (AVC) an Idaho Company. AVC provides management and project management consulting with a focus in Risk Management. Services range from contract project management to focus program to reduce the risk in your projects and programs. Tom, in his business career, had a variety of leadership experience in Information Technology, Marketing, Customer Support, and Product Quality with Hewlett-Packard and Hughes Aircraft. He has an MBA from the University of Arizona, with focused studies in Management Information and Operations. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics. Tom served in the U.S. Navy as a Mission Commander in P-3 Aircraft, along with assignments in operational and staff leadership roles. An active and supportive member of the Boise community, Tom served on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Treasure Valley, is the Camping Program Chair for the Ore-Ida Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the Western Idaho Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMIWIC). Tom is the current President of PMIWIC (320 members). He is an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and is a Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP). Tom is the Area Chair for Management at the University of Phoenix, at the Idaho Campus. Tom is an adjunct instructor at BSU in the MBA program, with a focus on project management. Married to Kathy with four grown children, they have lived in Boise for over 30 years. Tom enjoys fishing from his drift boat and photography in his free time
