Lake Champlain
Take your time and use caution with cold water. It is a "gentleman's start" at this point in the year- no need to get on the water early. It is best to wait until things warm with the sun to start fishing.
Warmer weather will get fish moving in the backwaters. The biggest problem is that the lake is fairly high which means that the fish will be very spread out making finding them more challenging. When you do they will be more than willing!
The pike bite is on and the fish are aggressively feeding. This is the time to get out there. Hit brush piles and decaying vegetation. Lots of casting but the big girls are out there looking for a feed right now!
