Fly Fishing Fairfield County

Wednesday, September 14th, 2011 - 2:30am to Wednesday, September 14th, 2011 - 4:30am

Take a tour of the 19 trout streams in Fairfield County to discover where to go, where to park, what to use and how to fish these incredible streams hiding in plain sight in your own backyard.

Mianus Chapter of Trout Unlimited Vice President Jeff Yates, is wrapping up his work on Fly Fishing Fairfield County: Secrets of Suburban Streams, a soon to be released regional fishing guide book, and will share everything he has learned about our local rivers.

Jeff will cover all the rivers and tell you which ones to fish when you’re targeting trophy trout, where to go to find native brook trout and what’s your best bet for a quiet, scenic day on a secluded stream.

He’ll also cover some of his favorite flies, equipment and tactics for fishing these small to medium rivers and discuss what seasons, water conditions and other factors will bring you the best luck.

Join us Tuesday, Sept. 13 for this great presentation.

The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at the mansion at Waveny Park in New Canaan.
